Chin Kishô was a [[scholar-aristocracy of Ryukyu|Ryukyuan scholar-aristocrat]] who traveled to [[Fuzhou]] in [[1692]], and was named instructor to the musicians attached to the ''shoin'' ("study") of [[Shuri castle]] in [[1699]], at the age of 26. He taught Chinese songs, ''[[pipa]]'', and ''[[sanxian]]''.
