Suiô Genro was a [[Zen]] monk and [[Zen painting|painter]], who succeeded [[Hakuin]] as abbot of Shôin-ji, and also followed in Hakuin's footsteps in the style of his painting. He studied painting under [[Ike no Taiga]].
