The ''Tôyûsô'' is a three-volume compilation of Chinese poems (''[[kanshi]]'') composed by members of the [[1842]] [[Ryukyuan embassy to Edo]]. It was published in a widely-accessible woodblock-printed form and sold across Japan the following year.
The first volume features poems by ''gieisei'' (head musician) [[Tei Gen'i]], the second volume poems by musician [[Gi Gakuken]], and the third volume poems by lead ambassador [[Urasoe Choki|Urasoe Chôki]] (aka Shô Genro). Many of the poems relate to sights and experiences along the Ryukyuans' journey, not only in [[Edo]], but in port towns and post-stations all along the route.
