Nobukatsu served Ryûzôji Takanobu and was renowned as a valiant warrior. When he learned that Takanobu had been killed in the course of the Battle of Okinawadate, Nobukatsu followed his lord in death by throwing himself into the enemy and, so the story goes, cutting down some eight of the enemy before being killed himself.
