Kano Osanobu

Jump to navigationJump to searchKanô Osanobu, also known as Seisen'in, was a head of the Kobiki-chô branch of the Kanô school of painters in the late 19th century. His disciples included Nagamine Osahiro and Kanô Hôgai, among others.
A son of Kanô Naganobu, he took over as head of the family following his father's death in 1828.[1]
In 1838, following a fire at the Nishinomaru palace within Edo castle, Seisen'in was placed in charge of overseeing the replacement of fusuma and other interior paintings for the restoration of the palace.
