- 729/2/10 Believing Sadaijin Prince Nagaya to be responsible for the death of the Crown Prince, and to be plotting against the state, Fujiwara no Umakai leads a force to surround Nagaya's mansion.
- 729/2/11 Prince Nagaya is tried before Prince Toneri, Prince Niitabe, and Fujiwara no Muchimaro, and is found guilty of treason.
- 729/6/21 A group of Hayato from Satsuma province present tribute to the Court.
- 729/8/10 It is ordered that the Imperial Consort become empress. This is quite unorthodox, as she is a member of the Fujiwara clan and not born into the Imperial family. She is nevertheless raised up, and becomes known as Empress Kômyô.
