- Shô Gen succeeds his father Shô Sei as king of the Kingdom of Ryûkyû. Sanshikan (Council of Three) begins to gain power.
- Itsukushima Shrine is rebuilt.
- Ming dynasty forces drive off a group of wakô from Zhejiang province; the wakô then head towards Ryûkyû and are defeated by the Ryukyuan royal navy.
