Other Events of 1404

• First Chinese investiture envoys, led by Shi Zhong, come to Chûzan.
• The first kangô bôeki mission sponsored by the Ashikaga shogunate departs for and arrives in China.
• The Ashikaga shogunate also sends an official mission to Joseon Dynasty Korea led by the Buddhist monk Shûtô. This is the first such mission to be formally representative of the "King of Japan."
• A Thai merchant ship arrives in Chûzan and is received to engage in trade, after being blown off-course and receiving repairs in Fujian province.
