Nobumasu was a younger brother of Oda Nobunaga and a well-known tea-master. He entered the service of Hideyoshi following Nobunaga's death and he later supported Tokugawa Ieyasu during the Sekigahara Campaign (1600). He joined the defenders of Osaka castle in 1614, though he survived the siege and retired from active life. He was also known as Oda Yuraku, or Oda Yurakusai.
