Ji Xin was an official in the court of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty, who is known for having, at one time, taken the emperor's place during an attack, in order to allow the emperor to escape. He is cited as an example of great loyalty in the Taiheiki, as well as in numerous other texts and stories.
