The Itchû-maru was a Chôshû han steamship prominent in the Bakumatsu period. Originally a British vessel named Union, it was obtained by Satsuma han from Thomas Glover in 1865 and renamed Sakurajima-maru, before later coming into the possession of Chôshû and being renamed again.
