Envoys from Ming Dynasty China, led by Yang Zai visit the Okinawan kingdom of Chûzan, demanding tribute. King Satto obliges, sending a mission led by his brother Taiki; the Ming Court grants the mission the new Ming system of calculating the calendar, among other gifts, thus marking the beginning of tributary relations.
