King Seonjo (or Sŏnjo) was king of Joseon Korea from 1567 until his death in 1608. His reign saw both the invasions of Korea by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the restoration of relations with the Tokugawa shogunate beginning in 1607.
Seonjo succeeded King Myeongjong to the throne in 1567, and was succeeded in turn by his son, Prince Gwanghae.
