Plot
Toei's 10th anniversary film. While the story of the Ako clan's vendetta (Chushingura) has been told countless times, never before has there been a telling with a huge all-star cast of this calibre that brings new life to this timeless tale. When Lord Asano is unjustly executed, his loyal retainers strike back for revenge. The tale of 47 Ronin, a true event that has inspired countless film adaptions, captures the real courage and loyalty of the way of the samurai. At a time in japanese history when those qualitys were more myth than reality, these brave men avenged thier Lord showing tremendous patience and cunning to achieve the ultimate justice.Though they would later be executed for this plan and it's end results all of japan would remember these men as heroes.
