Kita Busei was an [[Edo period]] painter known for his [[birds and flowers painting]]s, and for his extensive collection of copies he painted of old and famous works.
A student of [[Tani Buncho|Tani Bunchô]], he accompanied Bunchô to [[Kamigata]] to compile the pictorial catalog ''[[Shuko jisshu|Shûko jisshu]]'', at the orders of [[Matsudaira Sadanobu]].
