The Ishimaki, though obscure, were noted retainers of the Go-Hôjô clan. They acted as magistrates, with Ishimaki Iesada serving as the overseer of the 1534 rebuilding of the Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine (destroyed in 1524).
