"Blossoming Plum Tree" by Shiseki Renju, 1906. Collection of LACMA.

Shiseki Renju was the 43rd abbot of the Ôbaku Zen temple Manpuku-ji. He is known for his ink paintings, and in particular paintings of plum blossoms.

Renju became abbot of Manpuku-ji in 1904.
