Sai Ken was a Ryukyuan scholar-bureaucrat, who served on at least one tribute mission to China.

Journeying to Beijing at age 22 as the chief interpreter (totsûji) on the tribute mission, Sai Ken fell ill and died at the Huitong-guan on 1587/11/10, shortly after arriving in the city. He was buried at the Zen temple Anchan-si in the Outer City.
