Nobuyasu was a younger brother of Oda Nobuhide and held Inuyama castle in Owari province. He fought in the First Battle of Azukizaka (1542) against the Imagawa and later that year accompanied Nobuhide on campaign against the Saitô of Mino province. There he was killed in a night raid launched by Saitô Dosan. His son Oda Shimotsuke no kami Nobukiyo was to have a falling out with Nobunaga and fled Owari, eventually taking up with the Takeda of Kai.
