Koretsuna was the son of [[Anegakoji Yoshiyori|Anegakoji (Mitsugi) Yoshiyori]] and resided at [[Takayama castle]] in [[Hida province]]. He was an ally of [[Oda Nobunaga]], with whom he had a number of audiences. He defeated the [[Ema clan]] in [[1582]] and secured control of all Hida.
