Sô Sukekuni is the earliest head of the Sô clan who is known from historical documents.

He led more than 80 warriors on horseback into battle against the first of the Mongol invasions in 1274, but was killed in battle at Komodahama on the western coast of Tsushima.

He was succeeded as family head by his son Sô Moriakira, also known as Umatarô.
