Date Mochimura was an adopted son of lord of Sendai han Date Yoshikuni. He was later adopted by Tamura Kuniyuki, who he succeeded as lord of Ichinoseki han in 1857, taking on the name Tamura Yukiaki.[1]
He married an adopted daughter of Naidaijin Konoe Tadafusa.[2]
