Reizei Tamemura was a prominent [[kuge|court noble]] of 18th century [[Kyoto]], and is known today especially for his poetry.
In addition to composing many ''[[waka]]'' which remain famous and highly appreciated today, Tamemura is also known for having tutored or otherwise influenced a number of [[literati]] poets of his time, including [[Yashiro Hirokata]], [[Ike no Taiga]], and [[Ike Gyokuran]].
