For castle header info, I think Date Of Construction, Status (where you give year of destruction or it's current state-including what's original, what's not-or both, where buildings were destroyed but there are still remains like at Azuchi), and Castle Type (single story yamashiro, two story plains castle, etc) would be good. Again, I can add these if there's a kewl example somewhere-or if I get time to sit down and really read the help files. | For castle header info, I think Date Of Construction, Status (where you give year of destruction or it's current state-including what's original, what's not-or both, where buildings were destroyed but there are still remains like at Azuchi), and Castle Type (single story yamashiro, two story plains castle, etc) would be good. :The Japanese usually make it it a point to separate them into the Summer and Winter campaigns. I personally agree with that as the composition of both armies was radically different for each battle, but if you want to lump them together as one, that's OK with me. Let me know what you want and I'll fix my links so that they end up there. We'd also have to do the same if anyone splits up the smaller battles and does articles for Tenno-ji, Domyo-ji, etc. | :The Japanese usually make it it a point to separate them into the Summer and Winter campaigns. Do we want to write "Ikko-Ikki" or "Ikko-ikki" - captilization matters - what do we prefer? Also, which period should we drop this in - Edo period, I suppose? --Kitsuno 00:14, 11 September 2006 (PDT)
Also, this write up is great!
- Usually romanized Japanese words that use the hyphen only capitalize the first word. Personally, I prefer Ikko-Ikki....but following the first rule, it's Ikko-ikki. Just make a ruling, mighty Shogun, and your will shall be carried forth.
- I'd put Osaka Castle in Sengoku (or Azuchi-Momoyama, whatever) but not Edo. It was built in Azuchi/Sengoku and even though the battles were Edo period, they really represented the last warring states gasp. We could, however, put it under both. Or Bakamatsu, Meiji, or modern day, since it lasted all that time...but sticking with Sengoku and Edo seems best.

Format for Castles
We should probably put some sort of info at the top, like date of construction/destruction, something like that. Also, this is long enough to possibly break it into sections for easier reference(?) Also curious about "signing" entries - assuming various people will be editing these, should we skip the "sig" at the bottom? --Kitsuno 00:27, 11 September 2006 (PDT)
- Definitely needs some subsections as opposed to being one long chunk. Signing isn't really necessary since so many people will be able to edit entries--if you want to know who wrote what parts, just look at the History page.

Breaking it into sections is fine with me-it was written to make it easy to split. What, about 5-6 sections? And can one of you point me to a page that has it so I can examine how it's done (I've printed up the help pages, but seeing an example works better for me)? For castle header info, I think Date Of Construction, Status (where you give year of destruction or it's current state-including what's original, what's not-or both, where buildings were destroyed but there are still remains like at Azuchi), and Castle Type (single story yamashiro, two story plains castle, etc) would be good. Again, I can add these if there's a kewl example somewhere-or if I get time to sit down and really read the help files.

Osaka Castle battles
We now have "battle of osaka castle" as an entry... how shold we proceed - this one has the winter and summer campaigns in the text - or should we combine the entire thing together in the battles?
- The Japanese usually make it it a point to separate them into the Summer and Winter campaigns.
