Admin Badge
You now have your badge. I only put in the table stuff to make it look nice, you can feel free to modify it as you see fit. --Kitsuno 21:55, 12 November 2006 (PST)

Timeline?
I'm just curious where this page comes in - I think this is the first time I've seen it: Timeline
Unverified Users
If you have time, or anytime you notice, feel free to block unverified users that have been that way for more than 15 days. I get to it when I can, but I dont have much time or end up forgetting. Just be sure to:
- Block for "infinite"
- List reason as "unverified user"
- Replace the template on the user page with {{unverified}}
- Don't block "Bob" - that's my test ID - I accidentally tagged it as unverified, so I'll take care of that one.

Yamato period tribes/clans
Heya. I've actually been reading some stuff about the Yamato period in my Japanese class lately. Pretty interesting stuff, though it's fairly superficial and mostly covers stuff I already knew about.
In any case, I was wondering what your take might be on what to call various groups from this period. I suppose "clan" is probably easiest, as it matches up with later terms such as the Fujiwara, Minamoto, and Taira clans. But as the earliest period has various social structures I don't fully understand (e.g. the "be" as in Mononobe and Imibe, and the "tomo"), and as within the context of (a) immigrant groups from the mainland and (b) disparate chiefdoms or whatever the word might be within or outside of the Yamato state, terms such as "tribe" or something else might be more appropriate, I'm a bit at a loss.
What do you think? What have you seen or heard in your various academic adventures?
I'm thinking specifically of the Hata (秦), a major immigrant group from way way back. I don't think they're a kuge or bushi clan, nor are they a "be", so, is the word "tribe", or something else, more appropriate?
