Nobukatsu served [[Ryuzoji Takanobu|Ryûzôji Takanobu]] and was renowned as a valiant warrior. When he learned that Takanobu had been killed in the course of the [[Battle of Okinawadate]], Nobukatsu followed his lord in death by throwing himself into the enemy and, so the story goes, cutting down some eight of the enemy before being killed himself.
