Chaophraya Phrakhlang

Chaophraya Phrakhlang was a high court official in the court of King Sanphet VIII of Ayutthaya, overseeing foreign affairs and the treasury. Previously the governor of Phetchaburi, his predecessor in this high minister position sided with a faction supporting Phra Khwan, the younger son of King Phra Phetracha, in a succession dispute which ultimately ended in the older son (Sanphet VIII) winning the throne; the predecessor fell from power, and Chaophraya Phrakhlang was elevated into his position.
