Yokoate Island as seen from the air
  • Japanese: 横当島 (Yokoate jima)

Yokoate-jima is a small uninhabited island in Kagoshima prefecture. It is one of the southernmost of the Tokara Islands and is administered as part of Toshima village.

The island has a total land area of 3.8 km2, and is comprised of two volcanic cones which have combined into a single landmass. The western cone extends to 259 meters above sea level, and the eastern one about 495 meters. The soil is made chiefly of pyroxene andesite.
