The Tomono of [[Shinano province]] were descended from the [[Ogasawara clan|Ogasawara family]]. Their power was weakened by their involvement in the [[Adachi Yasumori]] affair ([[1285]]). In the [[Sengoku Period]] they would become vassals of [[Takeda Shingen]]. They became retainers of the [[Tokugawa clan|Tokugawa]] when the [[Takeda clan (Kai)|Takeda]] fell in [[1582]].
