For some reason, [[The History of Kanagawa]] refers to Saimei as "him", rather than "her":

''The Emperor Saimei himself went to Kyushu and sent a huge army for the relief of the Paekche kingdom.'' (referring to the army that would lose at Hakusukunoe).
