*Japanese: 高崎屋 (Takasaki-ya)

The Takasaki-ya is a liquor store located along Hongô-dôri, just outside of the main Hongô campus of the University of Tokyo. Originally established in the 18th century, the shop was a saké and soy sauce purveyor to the Maeda clan of Kaga han. Its head in each generation was known as Takasaki Chôemon.

The shop remains today on the former location of the family's much larger mansion complex, located at the intersection of the Nakasendô and the Nikkô Onarimichi (Nikkô Highway). An 1842 painting by Hasegawa Settan and his son Hasegawa Settei depicts the mansion.
