He debuted as [[Ichimura Kuroemon|Ichimura Kurôemon]], and spent time as [[Ichimura Kakitsu IV]] and [[Ichimura Uzaemon XIII]] before taking the name [[Onoe Kikugoro|Onoe Kikugorô]] in [[1868]].
