Ôno Uchû was a samurai from Karatsu han in [[Hizen province]].
He joined the [[Shinsengumi]] in [[1868]] and became a subordinate under [[Hijikata Toshizo]].
After the [[Meiji Restoration]], he served the new government.
He left the "[[Hakodate Senki]]" a journal of the [[Battle of Hakodate]].
