Morinobu was another son of Shingen and was adopted into the Nishina family of Shinano in 1561. When he came of age he held Takato castle in Shinano province, and this he defended, along with Oyamada Masayuki, against the Oda army in 1582. When the castle was about to fall, Morinobu informed the Oda soldiers that he predicted the coming downfall of Oda Nobunaga, then committed suicide.
