He distinguished himself in battle against the [[Hisakari clan|Hisakari]] in [[1567]] and again at [[Oguchi Castle|Ôguchi Castle]] in [[1569]], where he served under [[Niiro Tadamoto]]. He died fighting the [[Toyotomi clan|Toyotomi]] army in [[Higo province]] in 1587.
