Nagahiro was the son of [[Miyabe Tsugimasu]]. He succeeded his father in [[1596]] and held a sizable fief in [[Inaba province|Inaba]] and [[Tajima province|Tajima]]. In [[1600]] he sided with the Western Army and served under the [[Kakiya clan|Kakiya]] in the [[Siege of Otsu|Siege of Ôtsu Castle]] (1600). After the battle he was stripped of his holdings and placed in the custody of [[Nanbu Toshinao]].
