Matsumae Kageyu

  • Japanese: 松前 勘解由 (Matsumae Kageyû)

Matsumae Kageyû was a Matsumae clan karô of the Bakumatsu period. He, alongside others, met with Commodore Perry at the Okinokuchi Hall in Hakodate on 1854/4/26 to discuss matters such as the extent of the area that would be granted to Americans for free movement within the port city.
