The Kitajô of [[Echigo province]] were descended from [[Oe Hiromoto|Ôe Hiromoto]] and were thus related to the [[Mori clan (Aki)|Môri]] (they thus used the same family crest). They served the [[Nagao clan|Nagao]] and [[Uesugi clan|Uesugi]] in the sengoku period.
