Kita Busei was an Edo period painter known for his birds and flowers paintings, and for his extensive collection of copies he painted of old and famous works.

A student of Tani Bunchô, he accompanied Bunchô to Kamigata to compile the pictorial catalog Shûko jisshu, at the orders of Matsudaira Sadanobu.
