Kawagoe castle is located in Kawagoe city. The castle was constructed by [[Ota Doshin|Ôta Dôshin]] and [[Ota Dokan|Ôta Dôkan]].
In 1457, [[Uesugi Mochitomo]] moved to Kawagoe castle from Senpa.
There were 16 buildings in the late [[Edo period]] but most were demolished in the [[Meiji period]] and only a part of the ''honmaru'' remains today.
