Kanna Kenwa was a son-in-law of King (later, [[Kazoku|Marquis]]) [[Sho Tai|Shô Tai]] of the [[Ryukyu Kingdom|Ryûkyû Kingdom]], and an admiral in the [[Imperial Japanese Navy]].
