Masazumi's activities were largely confined to civil affairs and, like his father, he has been accused of being an inveterate schemer. At the end of the Osaka 'Winter Campaign' ([[1614]]), it was Masazumi whose men filled in the outer and second moats of the castle, in violation of the peace treaty.
