Chikaie was the second son of Yoshida Bingo no kami Shigetoshi and was adopted by Emura Bingo no kami Chikamasa. He became a retainer of both Chosokabe Kunichika and Motochika and served in a number of their campaigns on Shikoku. Son: Emura Chikatoshi
