Emperor Higashiyama reigned during the time of [[Shogun]] [[Tokugawa Tsunayoshi]].
Emperor Higashiyama reigned during the time of [[Shogun]] [[Tokugawa Tsunayoshi]].
A son of [[Emperor Reigen]], he took the throne following his father's abdication in [[1687]]. He then abdicated in turn in [[1709]], passing the throne to one of his sons, who became [[Emperor Nakamikado]].
