During the 7th month of 1558, [[Oda Nobunaga]] attempted to attack [[Iwakura castle]] from behind by deploying his troops in Ukino, about 12 kilometers to the North. About 3,000 troops from Iwakura met his attack. The battle lasted a few hours, after which the enemy was routed. Over 1250 enemy heads were taken, however Nobunaga returned to Kiyosu rather than push on to the castle.
