- 1523/3 Asai Sukemasa expels his master Kyôgoku Takakiyo.(Ômi)
- 1523/4 The Ôuchi and Hosokawa clans both send tribute missions to China, led by Shusetsu Gendo and So Sokyo, respectively. The two (labeled as wakô in some accounts) clash in the Chinese port of Ningpo.
