Doesn't the Yamato period end in 587? Cambridge lists it as stretching from 250-587, therefore encompassing the Kofun Period only. Nagaeyari 16:33, 3 October 2006 (PDT)

Yamato period is basically combine of Kofun period and Asuka period.J-wikipedia says the name "Yamato period" isn't used much these days.My Japan chronik don't have "Yamato period"--Shikisoku 06:38, 4 October 2006 (PDT)
