Not sure how or where to categorize this page at--probably needs a new ancient period category. Let's make sure though that we categorize pages *somewhere* when we write them though so we don't end up with uncategorized pages wandering the wilds of wikiland :) --Kryo 11:34, 10 September 2006 (PDT)

A subsection of mythology?

To add to what I wrote under the Hanzei discussion, I had to run off real quick. I've got a list of what I wrote when I left, however, and I'm back now to categorize what I left. Also, I definitely disagree with this being placed under mythology. It's a whole different ball park. Whether you want to make all jidai categories, I don't know. Just mythology for this is bleck. How about "ancient Japan"? Or which jidai would this fall into? put it in the appropriate historical period, then.

  • Well, it's up to the Shogun on this one. Do you want Mythological, Sosoki or Pre-Jomon stuff, Jomon, Yayoi, Kofun, Asuka, Nara, Heian, etc...? Or do you want a lumped-together "Ancient Japan"? I'd go with the former, but what do you think? For Wani, he would be under Kofun, as the Cambridge book says he arrived in Japan "in the late fourth or early fifth century".Nagaeyari 16:08, 10 September 2006 (PDT)
Put them in the historical periods, then, rather than ancient japan. It seemed sort of mythological to me, I didn't know they had an actual date for it.
