Takajo (Ryukyu)
- Japanese: 高所 (takajo)
Takajo were a type of government office in the Ryûkyû Kingdom which oversaw assessments of newly reclaimed land, and of Ryukyuan tribute ships, as well as of cargoes brought to Ryûkyû on Chinese ships. As new land was brought under cultivation, agents of the takajo surveyed the land to determine its production (kokudaka), in order to adjust tax obligations.
