Masayori was the eldest son of [[Takahashi Sumiyori]]. Though he is sometimes named as one of [[Uesugi Kenshin|Uesugi Kenshin's]] '28 generals' and fought under the Uesugi banner at the [[Fourth Battle of Kawanakajima]], he afterwards entered the service of the Ogasawara.
